Abstract
RÉSUMÉ
Plusieurs cliniciens et chercheurs croient en l’émergence d’une troisième génération de
thérapie comportementale et cognitive. L'objet de cet article est d’abord de présenter le
contexte historique des trois générations de thérapie. Il décrit ensuite la théorie, la
philosophie, la pratique des approches de la « nouvelle » génération ainsi que la recherche
empirique et les critiques portant sur celles-ci.

ABSTRACT
Several clinicians and researchers believe in the emergence of a third generation of
cognitive behavioral therapy. The object of this article is first to present the historical context
of the three generations of therapy. Second, it describes the theory, the philosophy and
practice of these “new” approaches as well as the empirical research and critics they
produced.
