本研究では、Acceptance and Commitment Therapy: ACT や心理的柔軟性モデルに関する 理解度を測定する指標(ACT Check)を作成し、その妥当性と再検査信頼性を検討した。ACT Check は心 理的柔軟性モデルの理解を測定する理論編(28 項目)とストレス場面への対応に関する応用編(24 項目)の 2 つから構成される。研究 1 では、ACT の専門家群 24 名、ACT の知識がある大学生群 22 名、ACT の 知識がない大学生群 21 名が調査に参加した。その結果、ACT の専門家群が最も高い ACT Check 得点を 示し、当該指標の既知集団妥当性が示された。研究 2 では、ACT の研修によって ACT Check 理論編の 得点が増加することが示された。本研究結果から、ACT Check は心理的柔軟性モデルや ACT の理解度 を測定する指標として、一定の妥当性と再検査信頼性を有することが示された。
