ACT/CBS Background and Training: I had the chance to use the research skills I acquired at Bogazici University and Binghamton University (State University of New York) both academically and practically in the psychology department. Through the psychology education I received and the clients I observed, I had the opportunity to work on the underlying reasons behind the problems of the clients. The internships I completed allowed me to analyze the sociological, psychological, and physiological reasons behind behaviors and apply what I learned in academia to real life. These skills I gained from both the books and real life experiences have been my greatest supporter in therapies.
My education on therapy approaches began with the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) training I received from Prof. Dr. Hakan Türkçapar and his team. I also participated in Prof. Dr. Kültegin Ögel's supervisions on this approach at Yeşilay Counseling Center (YEDAM). Currently, I am continuing to receive CBT training from Prof. Mehmet Zihni Sungur in the clinical psychology master's program, where I am also taking Meta-Cognitive Therapy (MCT) training from Assoc. Prof. Anıl Gündüz as part of the curriculum. Additionally, I am continuing my Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) training and receiving supervision from experts to make the therapies I conduct more professional.
