Course Description
Do you enjoy supporting clients suffering from chronic anxiety problems that include panic, OCD, phobias, and excessive worry?
Are you hoping to become a more powerful ACT Therapist?
Flexible selfing and parts work - Activating psychological flexibility
Increasingly, therapists, practitioners and researchers are recognising that working with the different parts of ourselves is as an effective way to improve how we relate to our Self. Approaches such as internal family systems (IFS) have emphasised the importance of 'parts work'. When parts are more clearly differentiated, we can learn to integrate the sometimes conflicting and sometimes harmonious interests, desires and yearnings they reflect to become more psychologically flexible.
Introduction to emotion efficacy training (EET) - Empowering clients to harness emotions and take valued action
Emotions are our primary motivational system, influencing the 35,000 moments of choice we encounter every day. The way we process and respond to our emotions plays a key role in shaping our decision-making and behaviours. When clients lack emotional efficacy, they end up stuck in a trance of reactivity that can lead them away from what they care about and how they want to show up, personally and professionally. Instead of designing their actions based on what matters most, they are at the effect of automatic default reactions.
ACT beyond procrastination - Helping clients get things done, compassionately accept themselves and do what matters!
Problematic procrastination is a common issue in therapy, with far-reaching consequences for clients' careers, studies, friendships, and overall well-being. However, there is hope. Procrastination is a learned behaviour, not an inherent trait, and therefore can be managed efficiently with the right support.
Building psychological flexibility - Understanding RFT principles in ACT practice
Language changes everything. From infancy through adulthood, language influences and dominates our sense of self, our choices, our opportunities, our relationships, our communities, our societies - the cultures that shape us all. Language is an inescapable part of what makes us human, what allows for us to act with meaning and purpose and also what brings us suffering.
