Cognitive fusion refers to the process of considering one's own thoughts as literally and objectively true, and it is one of the six processes in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. In a context of fusion, thoughts have a preponderant role in behavioural regulation instead of other sources of regulation (i.e. direct consequences of behaviour). The aim of this study is the validation of the Cognitive Fusion Questionnaire (CFQ) in the Italian context.

Among the recent developments of the cognitive-behavioral approach, the Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT; Hayes, Strosahl and Wilson, 1999) has a central role. One of the key aspects of ACT is the ability of recognizing own values and acting in line with them. However, few measures have been developed in order to assess success in living according to values.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy: radici, modello, evidenze.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT; Hayes, Strosahl and Wilson, 1999) is a behavioural model, clearly based on both epistemological and theoretical roots, which we must be aware of in order to clarify its breadth and depth and to prevent misunderstandings and simplifications.
