Dr Kerry Makin-Byrd will share her wisdom on the prevention of burnout in the neurodivergent community.  This event will take place on January 30th, 2025 at 8 pm Irish standard time./January 31, 2025 at 7am New Zealand time.

 

ABSTRACT: In this talk, Dr. Kerry Makin-Byrd will review both individual and system level practices to identify, alleviate, and prevent burnout among neurodivergent individuals. Special attention will be given to emerging research in this field as well as specialized clinical interventions to help people unmask, to garner appropriate supports and to attune to their sensory experiences.

 

BIO: Dr. Kerry Makin-Byrd is an author, clinical psychologist, and trauma and resilience expert. After 15 years in research, US national trauma policy, and start-up work, Kerry now spends her days providing clinical care to trauma survivors, supervising therapists and doctors, and writing. Kerry has been cited more than two hundred times in the academic literature.  She regularly presents to national and international professional associations on ACT, resilience, and burnout. Kerry’s first book about her own work burnout, “The Ballad of Burnout”, was an Amazon #1 New Release and widely praised as brutally honest, lyrical, and beautiful with endorsements by Oprah's Magazine 2020 Visionary and best-selling author Kelly McGonigal and international trauma expert, Dr. Robyn Walser. When Kerry's not working, she's hiking, baking, and building a mansion for her foster cats.

Dr Makin-Byrd's presentation will last approximately one hour and there will be approximately 30 minutes Q&A following her presentation.
