It was time to make a decision and he wanted to make the right one, so he had got ready everything carefully. He sat in the lotus position, in the most orthodox way, took a deep inhalation and tried to get the emptiness in his mind for he wanted to be ready for any intuition, ready for any light showing him the exit for the labyrinth of his life.
- I am open to the will of “my god” –he said as a mantra- I am ready to face my life according to my god’s will...
The eyes fixed on the flame of the candle could discern the golden chiaroscuro on the walls. In the incense burner, the incense bar made quite threads of smoke that move upward to the dark ceiling while the man went on with his mantra:
- ... my god’s will... my god’s will...
The lights of the town spattered with glittering the night and, after that night, his decision shoud have been made. So, he focused his eyes on the candle, trying to get the emptiness in his mind and fervently repeated the mantra:
- ... my god’s will... my god’s will...
First, he thougth it was a shadows formation, the result of the smoke and the candle on his peripheral vision, so he tried harder to get the emptiness in his mind throught his mantra:
- ...my god’s will... my god’s will...
It was only when he realized that the golden shadow didn’t move like the other shadows that he averted his eyes from the candle to face the bright shape that opposite him, in the same lotus position, seemed his own image in a mirror. The only thing was that in the room there weren’t any mirrors.
- Who are you? –The man asked with a hint of fear- and how did you manage to come into?
The golden shadow took his time to give an answer, as it wanted the man guessed the answer:
- I am your god and I haven’t come into; I am always into.
The man got puzzled, so he asked again:
- And, what do you want from me?
- Nothing –said the golden shadow-. I am just looking at you.
Again the silence and the two characters looking at each other, as looking at a mirror. Then, the man broke the silence:
- Tell me what to do with my life... Tell me what your will is...
The golden twin took his time to answer:
- You are my will; you do have a will, and I am only waiting for your decision.
The man woke with a start. The candle went on burning and the incense smoke went on moving upward to the ceiling. The moon, outside, painted in silver the city landscape. He looked at the night scenary and felt himself full of strength. He was the only owner of his fortune; the only thing to do was ACT.
