  • The innovative ESPRIMO “Demons on the boat” program integrates acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) with adventure therapy (AT)

  • ACT in an immersive and stimulating AT context may contribute to multiple sclerosis adaptation in young adults.

  • Exposure to nature evokes the transformative components of the ACT metaphor at a sensory, cognitive, and emotional level.

  • The interpersonal dimension of the program provides support and a renew trust in others.

  • The ESPRIMO “Demons on the boat” model can be adapted and used for different purposes and vulnerable populations.
