About this training
This is an introductory-level workshop designed to provide clinicians and students with an accessible, usable overview of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). The foundational core competencies of ACT will be introduced with a combination of didactics and practical/experiential exercises and will focus on helping participants learn skills and interventions that can be immediately integrated into their work. The training will include a brief review of ACT’s place in the context of other theoretical/clinical orientations as well as an overview of some of the underlying philosophical components of practicing from an ACT framework.

CEs are awarded contingent on timely post-event paperwork submission by event organizers. Attendees must attend the course in its entirety to receive CE credits (no exceptions).

About the Presenter
Steve Bisgaier, PsyD, BCB, is a licensed psychologist, adjunct professor, professional trainer, and clinical supervisor. He is the founder and director of The Center for Anxiety and Wellness, a full-time private practice that specializes in the treatment of anxiety, OCD, depression, chronic health issues, and substance use. He is President of the Pennsylvania Chapter of the Association for Contextual Behavioral Science, the umbrella organization that houses Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and is an adjunct professor at Widener University’s Institute for Graduate Clinical Psychology. Dr. Bisgaier has led professional trainings on numerous topics, including ACT, the treatment of anxiety, depression, OCD, suicidality, and perfectionism and has developed a mindfulness program for anxiety and a clinical self-compassion program.
