Kleen, M., & Reitsma, B. (2009). Mindfulness met behulp van hartslagcoherentietraining: De toepassing vanbiofeedback in ACT. Psychopraxis, 4, 140-145.
Learning formal mindfulness can be a burden to some clients due to it's intensity and clients may have objections towards the formal mindfulness approach. An ACT-adapted version of a biofeedback procedure, hartrate coherence training (HCT-ACT) was used to teach mindfulness skills to clients who suffer from moderate to severe psychosocial problems. A pilotstudy was performed on 7 clients, changes in self reported mindfulness and weighted coherence scores were measured. Results indicate a significant increase in all measures, according to the predifined hypotheses. It was concluded that HCT-ACT is can be useful tool to teach mindfulness skills in an easy to use and friendly way.
