Objective: To observe the clinical manifestation of anxiety and depression on the adolescent orthodontic patients, to explore the clinical effects of compliance of adolescent orthodontic patients intervened with acceptance and commitment therapy.
Method: A total of 400 adolescent patients were randomly divided into the study group and the control group,200 cases in each group, both group patients received orthodontic treatment, and the study group was intervened with acceptance and commitment therapy after treatment. The assessment was made at 1 week and 3 months after orthodontic treatment respectively. The changes of anxiety, depression and compliance of two groups were compared after the treatment.
Result: Oral health, appliance safe, on time to see a doctor, braces and buccal tube in good condition without loss rate of the study group were better than thoses of the control group (P<0.01).
Conclusion: Acceptance and commitment therapy intervention could enhance adolescent orthodontic patient compliance, improve the therapeutic effect of orthodontic treatment,shorten the course of treatment.
