Do you work with children or teenagers? Would you like to learn more about applying the ACT model with those clients? If you said yes to either of those questions, this workshop is for you! Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) offers a promising therapeutic approach for addressing challenges that children and adolescents experience.
This training is designed for clinicians who already have at least a basic familiarity with the ACT model. We will explore how ACT’s core principle of psychological flexibility can be adapted to support emotional development in children and adolescents. By emphasizing acceptance of difficult emotions, cognitive defusion, and values-driven behavior, ACT provides youth with strategies to manage their stress and navigate complex social and family situations.
The training will include didactic presentation, small group exercises, and demonstration role plays. The goal is to have you walk away with plenty of helpful tools and resources that you can start implementing right away with your clients!
The activity has approval for 3 CEs for psychologists and counselors. Pending approval for 3 CEs for social workers
