ACT/CBS Background and Training: I am the author of ACT FOR TREATING CHILDREN (New Harbinger Publications, 2022) and THE ACT WORKBOOK FOR KIDS (New Harbinger Publications, 2024). I am an enthusiastic and passionate ACT trainer, and provide ACT training on using ACT with children and adolescents. I have used ACT since 2007. I did my Ph.D. on a trial of ACT vs CBT for adolescents, as a compulsory part of school curricula, under the supervision of Louise Hayes. My study was the first trial of ACT vs CBT for adolescents as part of a universal school intervention. I have attended workshops with Robyn Walser, Kirk Strosahl and Patty Robinson, Lisa Coyne, Dennis Tirch, Mike Twohig, Louise Hayes and Russ Harris. I also use compassion-based approaches and have trained with Paul Gilbert. I am an Educational and Developmental Psychologist and have worked as a School Psychologist for over 20 years and in private practice for 23 years. I have extensive experience providing supervision in ACT with children and adolescents to highly experienced as well as early career psychologists. I provide consultation online.
