ACT/CBS Background and Training: I earned my Bachelor of Science degree from Northwestern University, followed by both my Master’s and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology. As part of my doctoral training, I completed an internship and advanced therapy practicum at the Gateway Foundation, where I provided individual and group psychotherapy within a residential substance abuse treatment setting. My clinical experience also includes specialized training in diagnostic assessment through work at a psychiatric nursing facility and a college counseling center.
Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working with adolescents and adults facing a wide range of mental health challenges, including substance use disorders, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, eating disorders, PTSD, and co-occurring conditions. For many years, I was part of a medical practice where I received advanced training in both nutrition and neuroscience, further enhancing my holistic approach to care. Currently, I teach graduate-level courses in psychology and have a private practice providing psychotherapy to patients throughout the United States.
My areas of specialization include addiction, anxiety, depression, trauma-related disorders, and eating-related concerns. As a clinical psychologist, I embrace an integrative approach to treatment, thoughtfully incorporating elements of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I am a strong advocate for ACT, having witnessed its profound impact in helping individuals cultivate resilience, improve emotional well-being, and lead values-driven lives.
