ACT/CBS Background and Training: I was first introduced to ACT in around 2010/2011 where training was received whilst working in a psychosis service. I was then reintroduced to the model during my clinical psychology training where I received teaching in ACT and used this model on clinical placements with clients. In my current NHS role working with people with Long-Covid, I primarily use ACT as the model of therapy to help people to adapt around their condition. I have attended a lot of ACT training in this role via Mindfulness Training Ltd, SDS, Contextual Consulting and Psychwire. This includes general ACT training, trauma-focussed ACT, using chair work in ACT, SHAPE ACT supervision, ACT for grief. I have recently set-up private practice to predominantly work with people who overwork/work addiction (this will include working with trauma, relational difficulties, emotional difficulties and physical health conditions). I will also be using a lot of ACT with this population.
