ACT/CBS Background and Training: I received my PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Rochester in 2009 and began her private practice upon completing a post-doctoral fellowship in Adult Psychiatry at the University of Rochester Medical Center, where she began intensive ACT training. She also has experience teaching at the University of Rochester and SUNY Geneseo, providing therapy and clinical supervision in rural and urban mental health clinics, and she has performed psychological evaluations for public safety and corrections officers. She specializes in anxiety, OCD (utilizing ACT in combination with exposure and response prevention), relationships, and grief. Dr. Funk is also a registered yoga teacher and has an active group program, hosting several psychotherapy groups per week in which she incorporates ACT and mindful movement for anxiety, grief, sleep difficulties, somatic concerns, and other psychological symptoms. She also hosts groups outdoors in local parks incorporating ecotherapy and ACT as well.
Additional Information: I am also a registered yoga teacher and can integrate mindful movement into psychotherapy sessions for interested clients.
