ACT/CBS Background and Training: My ACT training began during graduate school when I pursued my PhD and is ongoing, as I value continued learning and growth through experience. I have taken ACT workshops by well-known trainers (e.g., Kelly Wilson's ACBS pre-conference workshop), read and practice using a number of ACT workbooks/guides (e.g., ACT for PTSD and trauma-related problems by Walser & Westrup), and listen regularly to ACT-oriented or ACT-focused online trainings and podcasts.
ACT/CBS Experience: I have been practicing ACT since 2005. I conduct and present research on an ACT-based treatment protocol for parents of youth with OCD and anxiety disorders, including at the annual ACBS conference. I supervise clinical psychology students in using ACT.
Additional Information: I am a co-owner and co-founder of Anchored Approach, PLLC. My co-owner, Alyssa Faro, Ph.D., and I provide clinical consultation, educational programming, and other professional services that involve the integration of ACT with exposure-based therapy for anxiety disorders, OCD, and related disorders in youth and adults.
