ACT/CBS Background and Training: I began using ACT to respond more flexibly to the chronic pain and illness I experienced daily. ACT afforded a measure of peace and helped me live a full life despite circumstances outside my control. Over time, it was evident that ACT was helpful for young people who had not benefited fully from talk or behavioral therapy. My training includes coursework such as Thriving Adolescents developed by Louise Hayes, ACT in Consultation with Tom Szabo, and over 300 hours of research and professional development applied to organizational leadership, ethics, and RFT. I develop activities and metaphors to address the unique needs of the young people I serve. ACT has been the addition to my professional repertoire that has most benefitted the young people and families I serve.
ACT/CBS Experience: 10 years
Additional Information: I use behavioral strategies to help clients engage in flexible behavioral repertoires that bring them more of what they value.
