ACT/CBS Background and Training: I have been practicing ACT since 2007 and have been working in forensic and correctional settings using ACT from 2006 - 2016. During this time, I completed a 20-month pilot study involving the application of ACT with civilly committed Sexually Violent Persons (SVP). My goal is to expand the understanding and utility of using ACT in forensic populations. Until recently, I used ACT at a forensic psychiatric hospital featuring patients admitted for fitness restoration, Guilty Except Insanity (GEI), and high risk/special needs sex offenders. I have taken this clinical experiencing in working with historically difficulty-to-treat clients, and have transitioned to using ACT with chronic pain clients in Salem, OR. Outside these venue, I maintain my private practice, ACT II Psychology, in downtown Salem, OR.
