We currently have about 160 ACT interested people on our email list, and 78 members of the Delaware Valley ACT Learners meetup.com  to help us spread the word about our activities.  Join at:  http://www.meetup.com/Delaware-Valley-Acceptance-Commitment-Therapy-Learners/

A few of us at the ACBS World Conference in Minneapolis spent time together discussing our interests in some of the following and decided to create an affiliate as a vehicle to our committed action:

1) Building a local community of ACBS members.  We define local as within (or to be inclusive, near) the Delaware Valley.  Generally we think of this as South Eastern PA (Philly area), South Jersey, and Northern Delaware.  There are no real boundaries though.  The affiliate is more a state of mind then a place.  The place is just where we imagine the activities happening.

2) Increasing opportunities for ACT, RFT, FAP, CFT, etc. training.  We have a number of well qualified trainers in our area, and we are also very interested in attracting some internationally recognized trainers to present full day or perhaps two day trainings.  There may be interest among our membership for peer supervision groups as well.

3)  Developing opportunties for expanded referrals for ACT (ACBS) clinicians and agencies.

4) Strong partnership with the Pennsylvania ACBS Chapter

On Sunday November 23rd, Steve Hayes stopped by our Delaware Valley ACT Learners meetup.  It was awesome.  Steve was so warm and generous.  He covered a ton of topics and inspired us with some wonderful stories about what the ACBS community can do.  Thanks Steve!  Thanks PCOM for the space!

On Sunday February 22, Yaacov Kravitz guided us through a sequence of mindfulness exercises individually, as dyads, and as a whole group.  Yaacov's approach was informed by his work and experience with Insight Dialogue, and he connected these experiential exercises with the four mindfulness processes of ACT.  Andy D'Amico built on this by guiding a mindful therapy role play.  We were a group of 21 warm and wonderful ACT learners really begining to form as a community.  Thanks to everyone who made it on a snowy and slushy Sunday.  Thanks to Yaacov and Andy!   Thanks to PCOM for the space.

On Monday April 6 DJ Moran provided a free webinar to the Social Work & ACT SIG which was also made available to the Del Val ACBS Affiliate.  Aproximately 135 people attended.

Wednesday June 3, 2015 DJ Moran presented a full day workshop called Demystifying ACT: Practical Applications of Acceptance & Commitment Therapy.

Thank you so much everyone!
