Wilson, K. G., Sandoz, E. K., Kellum, K. K., & DuFrene, T. (2009). Stimulus control for clinicians. In K. G. Wilson & T. DuFrene, Mindfulness for Two: An Acceptance and Commitment Therapy Approach to Mindfulness in Psychotherapy. Oakland, CA: New Harbinger.
This is a chapter in my new book with Troy DuFrene called Mindfulness for Two: An Acceptance and Commitment Therapy Approach to Mindfulness in Psychotherapy. The focus of the book is on the place of mindfulness processes in ACT. This chapter is the most technical chapter in a book that is light on citations and really aimed at the mainstream clinician. Even though the book is written for and to clinicians, I felt the need to write some background in behavior analysis, since that is the central organizing theory in ACT. There are starting to be some nice documents bridging the gap between technical behavior theory and clinical application--notably Jonas and Niklas new ABC's book. It is my hope that this chapter will assist in answering this growing call for user friendly treatments of behavior analysis.
