Objective: The mindfulness is the psychological process of concentrating, understanding and accepting that occurring in the present moment. Currently, a part of researchers has widely applied the mindfulness training in the competitive sports field, which has achieved remarkable effects. This study applied Mindfulness-Acceptance-Commitment Indigenous Approach (MAC) to basketball training to discuss the intervention effect on shooting percentage and mindfulness level, in order to provide reference for basketball training.
Methods: Collecting data from the random sample of 40 athletes in Wuhan Sports University, which was randomly divided into the experimental subject and the control subject. Mindfulness-Acceptance-Commitment Indigenous Approach (MAC) intervention training was used in the experimental group for seven weeks. Meanwhile, The Five Facet Mindfulness Questionnaire (FFMQ)was used to compare the mindfulness level of athletes in different groups before and after training. Results After 7 weeks training, there was a obvious difference that the free throw rate and mindfulness level of the experimental groups were higher than the control one.
Conclusion: Mindfulness training helped athletes to ease the anxiety of penalty shots, release the stress from the emotion aiming to the winning medal.
