Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examination the impact of counseling based on acceptance and commitment therapy in the quality of life in parents of ADHD children. The research was done a quasi-experimental design pretest, posttest and follow-up with two experimental groups. Sample were available of children parents 4 -12 years old with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder admitted to two psychiatric facility medical and counseling were selected among 30 individuals tested, 15 were randomly assigned to two groups of 15 subject were assigned. In the pre-test to measure quality of life of parents with quality of life questionnaire, the experimental group was trained by the independent variable and the control group did not receive any training. In the post-test and follow-up on the above questionnaire was administered to both groups. Data using ANOVA (with repeated measures) were analyzed with SPSS 19 Software.

Advantage:

Study findings showed that counseling based on acceptance and commitment therapy on quality of life for parents of children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder was effective.

Conclusion:

The importance of interventions in Psychosomatic diseases and provide new horizons focuses on clinical interventions.
