Objective To analyze the effects of bee acupuncture combined with acceptance and commitment therapy on cancer pain control and psychological flexibility in patients with advanced liver cancer. Methods Seventy patients with advanced liver cancer were randomly divided into two groups, 35 in each group. The control group received oxycodone sustained-release tablets and conventional analgesia, while the experimental group received bee acupuncture combined with acceptance and commitment therapy. The effects of cancer pain control, psychological flexibility, and psychological distress were compared between the two groups. Results Before intervention, there were no significant differences in the numeric pain score (NRS), Barriers to Control of Pain Questionnaire (BQ), Acceptance and Behavior Questionnaire-II (AAQ-Ⅱ), and Distress Thermometer (DT) between the two groups (t=-0.12, 0.33, -0.04, and -0.10, respectively; all P>0.05).After intervention, the NRS, BQ, AAQ-Ⅱ, and DT scores in the experimental group were significantly lower than those in the control group (t=-13.51, -14.70, -7.03, and -4.07, respectively; all P<0.05). Conclusion Bee acupuncture combined with acceptance and commitment therapy can help improve cancer pain control and psychological flexibility in patients with advanced liver cancer, and relieve psychological distress.
