A native Frenchman and formerly a post-doctoral fellow at the University of Nevada Reno, and currently Assistant Professor of Psychology at the University of Louisana Lafayette, he discusses self-as-context in this edition of the ACT processes series. Dr. Villatte identifies the differences between the conceptualized self and self-as-context, it's role in the ACT model, and shares the importance of practicing getting distance from our thoughts/feelings/memories and not becoming too attached to our 'stories' about ourselves.
