21st May 5pm Australian Eastern Time

Most clinicians access some form of supervision (peer or professional) to build competence and develop skills…what about supervisors? How do we learn to be effective supervisors? Who gives us feedback and guidance to help us grow? We are a group of eight clinicians who also supervise other clinicians.  We have formed and adapted our Portland Model-influenced ‘supervision of supervision’ group over time, and we wanted to share our experience in the hope it will inspire more people to consider stepping into the role of being a supervisor and start your own supervision of supervision group.

We will share how our group is structured and what happens in the sessions, with a focus on experiential learning. We will do a live showcase of what the Experiential Skills Building part of the session looks like (think real-play of a supervision session), and how we use the group members as an in vivo brains-trust (think magic pause button and tips about what to say next).
