Abstract: Addressing sexual topics in therapy has been something that most therapists report not being trained in properly (Buehler, 2022). This lack of training contributes to the stigma and silence around individuals’ sexual health issues (Buehler, 2022). This is especially true with people who are neurodivergent due to poor sex ed or stigma. Research has shown that there is a large percentage of overlap between neurodivergence and gender/sexual diversity which makes this topic much more important in the therapy context. The purpose of this workshop is to have therapist's talk about sexual topics in a more accessible and humorous way with evidence-based practices. Application of an ACT model can provide support for therapists while guiding their clients through sex work. Understanding how to use the pillars of psychological flexibility in a sexual health context can profoundly help the individual struggling with sexual health issues. Using Sexy Pillars of Open Wide (Willingness & Defusion), Deep In It (Present moment & Self as Context), and Lets Do it (Values & Committed Action) aim to address the Psychological Inflexibility around a client’s sexual health issues. Using sex-specified skills will help the client move from being stuck in their sexual issue to being able to pivot towards their sexual values.
