Mission
The ACT/RFT and ABA Special Interest Group (SIG) aims to create a collaborative community within ACBS to educate, inform, and engage anyone interested in the integration of applied behavior analysis (ABA) and contextual behavioral science (CBS) as a whole, with a more specific interest in advancing the application and acceptance of ACT and RFT within ABA research and practice. Our mission is to disseminate information and engage others in learning more about the history, philosophy of science, theory, and scope of practice within ABA while demonstrating its consilience with other evidence-based practices and fostering an integrative and effective approach in behavioral science to reliably improve outcomes for the health and wellbeing of all those we serve at all levels, including the individual, family and community. We intend to do this by having open and relevant discussions, and by offering various activities, events and networking opportunities for all those interested, not just limited to those in the field of ABA.
