Abstract

This chapter describes the interplay of ACT processes as they relate to therapeutic relationship. The particular focus is on mindfulness processes (from and ACT perspective) and values work. As has been my obsession in recent years, the chapter contains a ton of interest in present moment focused work. It is a practical chapter as well as a conceptual chapter. It contains some "old favorite" exercises from workshops like "The Sweet Spot Exercise" as well as some other well worn orienting pieces like clients as math problems versus sunsets. And, there are some bits of poetry interspersed, which I seem to be able to get away with these days. Peace to all and enjoy. As you can see from the cite, it was coauthored by my entirely excellent grad student Emily Sandoz.
