Mission/Objectives

Our mission is to promote enhanced understanding and development of functional contextual behavioral sciences throughout the state of Missouri in an effort to alleviate human suffering and advance human well being. Our commitment is to:
•Link professionals and resources in Missouri to enhance contributions to the ACBS community and provide support to members
•Organize and sponsor forums, conferences, newsletters, journals, websites, list serves and other such activities to enhance the purposes of this organization
•Notify and inform interested parties about the work we do
•Promote research and scholarship in the state of Missouri focused on the development of a coherent and progressive science of human action that is more adequate in its response to human suffering and the challenges of the human condition
•Support our members in their efforts to gain ongoing training and further develop their own competencies in the field of Contextual Behavioral Science
•Work in an open, compassionate, non-discriminatory, and mutually supportive manner that is effective in producing valued outcomes and exploring additional implications of this work

Chapter Activities

•Annual Regional Chapter Conference
•Newsletters, journals, and other publications
•Maintain web-based services including social media and online forums (currently: www.heartlandacbs.weebly.com; Heartland ACBS Chapter of Missouri Facebook page; and Heartland ACBS Google group)
•Promote and encourage a variety of peer supervision groups (please contact us about joining/forming a group)
•Promote ACT, CBS, & RFT professional & public education

Description of Membership

Members of this organization shall be persons who are interested in the advancement of functional contextual science and practice, and members of ACBS.
