ACT/CBS Background and Training: I have been doing ACT trainings both nationally and internationally since 1998. I have presented on ACT at professional conferences in the areas of clinical application and research and have published 7 books and a number of chapters and articles on this intervention (The Heart of ACT; ACT and moral injury, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and the Treatment of PTSD and Trauma Related Disorders; Learning ACT, 2nd Edition; The Mindful Couple). I am currently the lead for the VA roll out, disseminating ACT through the hospital system. I am also conducting clinical research using ACT in the treatment of PTSD, moral injury, suicide and anxiety at the NCPTSD in Palo Alto. My training occurred at the University of Nevada, Reno under the direction of Dr. Steven Hayes beginning in 1991. I provide ACT consultation via Zoom and Skype. I serve as Co-Director at the Bay Area Trauma Recovery Clinical Services and Assistant Clinical Professor at University of California, Berkeley.
