ACT/CBS Background and Training: I began my ACT/RFT training with Kelly Wilson at the University of Mississippi in 2000. My dissertation, published in the Behavior Analyst Today, was a stimulus equivalence project related to parenting, and I continued RFT and ACT work with parents for several years along with former students at the University of North Texas. I have published several articles and chapters related to the use of ACT with children as well. I have presented a number of didactic and experiential presentations on ACT and RFT at AABT/ABCT and ABAI as well as other settings. Aside from the previously listed workshops and presentations, I have provided consultation and given about 50 ACT presentations or workshops. These workshops have ranged from 2 hours to 2 days in length; some were mostly didactic, while others were experiential in nature. From 2005 to December of 2019, I ran an ACT-consistent supervision group and a research lab devoted to ACT and RFT work.In January of 2020, I started private practice conducting assessment and psychotherapy. I also am continually teaching as an affiliate faculty member at the University of Memphis.
ACT/CBS Experience: over 20 years-see above
Additional Information: I am primarily interested in work with children and families. I can facilitate introductory to advanced trainings in ACT with this population, or conduct introductory to intermediate workshops on more general ACT/RFT topics.
