ACT/CBS Background and Training: I am practicing meditation since the 1980's and integrating mindfulness in my clinical work for more than 30 years.
When I came in contact with ACT, it just makes sense to me and the RFT was putting a structure on what I was already thinking. I considered myself an ACT therapist for numbers of years and when completing the acceptance and commitment therapy core competency self-rating form, I rate the 60 statements as 5-6 or 7.
I work in French, so I was reluctant to join the community of ACT therapists because I would not be able to participate as much as I would like, but I discovered that there was a francophone group, so I’m joining now.
