ACT/CBS Background and Training: Began working in traditional ABA in 2016, fieldwork in 2017-2018 was under the direction of a BCBA studying ACT/gaining experience and applying it to the 'traditional' ABA methods. In 2019, became certified in August and attended the 4-day "ACT Bootcamp" in King of Prussia, PA in October. Connected with providers using ACT via online groups and forums. Interwove ACT principles into caregiver training. Began applying ACT in the systems and measures used to train staff, while running a 'full time' ABA clinic. Transitioned to applying AIM curriculum via telehealth dyad sessions in 2021. In late 2021, transitioned solely to a social skills ABA model (group sessions for children/teens and caregivers). Developed curriculum using ACT hexaflex and utilized AIMs curriculum in pre/teen groups. Utilized Canvas: ACT-Art curriculum within these teen groups. Continued developing staff training procedures utilizing ACT. In October 2024, transitioned out of 'traditional' ABA and into private practice, providing 1:1 and group services using ACT to especially address social skills and emotional flexibility/regulation. Curriculums used include: AIM, Canvas: ACT-Art, and the 'ACT Workbook for Kids' and 'Acceptance and Committment Therapy Toolbox' -- providing intervention using these tools/exercises, and modifying to meet the present needs of individual clients. Diagnosis of current population served includes ASD, ADHD, AuDHD, including PDA, generalized anxiety/social anxiety, adjustment disorders. Private practice (self-pay only) is with the Social Skills Training Project and includes collaboration and supervision with Dr Jed Baker. Continued participation in ACT-focused trainings as part of ongoing continuing education, especially in applications outside of ASD. Looking to connect with fellow BCBAs working in similar systems/clinical behavior analysis for collaboration and group-think.
