ACT/CBS Background and Training: I was a therapist for a trial with Queen Mary University London https://surecanstudy.qmul.ac.uk, which used ACT+ as an 8 week intervention for cancer patients. I worked with 50 clients using ACT plus a work and exercise element. Since then, I have read ACT made simple, completed Trauma Focused ACT with Russ Harris online, am about to complete ACT for ADHD with Russ Harris online (Both PSychwire courses) and am going to the London in-person training in May with Russ Harris, ACT for anxiety and depression (2 days). I have introduced a pilot, face to face ACT group for coping with fear of recurrence for cancer patients and am delivering the second pilot. I received supervision from Ray Owen https://psychwire.com/profiles/7n4sf4 for this.
ACT/CBS Experience: See above
Additional Information: I've worked as a therapist (Hypnotherapy, EFT, Eden Method) for a cancer charity since 2015 providing complementary therapy for people living with cancer and their family. I have worked in an integrated way in hospitals and a palliative care unit. I was delighted to add ACT to my skills, fell in love with it whilst delivering SURECAN and am pleased to be offering it to cancer patients in a group setting.
