ACT/CBS Experience: I have been using ACT methods in my practice to help individual, couples and families. It is a model I practice personally and adapt to support my clients to pursue what they care about.
Additional Information: I changed careers to do what I love. I've worked in mental health therapy and counseling since 2007. I started my own practice in 2018 so that I could better serve those I work with without the burdens that come from operating within a big bureaucracy. I have completed trainings in ACT from leaders in the field and am perpetually learning for my own sense of curiosity and to support my clients. I have also studied and integrated into my practice other models of therapy including Gottman Method Couples Counseling, Gestalt therapy and Motivational Interviewing. I adapt the models I learn to fit the needs of my clients and like that ACT provides a process-based theoretical model that is flexible enough to meet the needs of those I work with.
Today ACT is the primary model I utilize in working with individual therapy clients.
