ACT/CBS Background and Training: I am a recent graduate with a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and the founder of Summit & Flow Counseling and Mental Performance Center LLC, where I practice from a primarily Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) perspective. I began using the ACT model during my Practicum in May 2024 and have continued to deepen my training and application throughout Internship and into clinical practice. My formal training includes completing the ACT in Action course by Steven C. Hayes, PhD, through Psychotherapy.net Academy. I’ve also studied Acceptance and Commitment Therapy by Hayes & Lillis (APA’s Theories of Psychotherapy Series), and regularly engage with foundational and contemporary ACT texts and authors, including Steven C. Hayes, Russ Harris, and Kirk Strosahl. I am committed to continued learning through participation in ACBS trainings, ongoing consultation, and integration of ACT into both counseling and mental performance work with athletes.
ACT/CBS Experience: 1 Year
Additional Information: In addition to individual counseling, I have a strong passion for sport and performance psychology—particularly in helping student-athletes reach their full potential through the ACT framework. I recently completed leading a group mental performance program with a local high school boys’ basketball team, using The Psychology of Enhancing Human Performance: The Mindfulness-Acceptance-Commitment (MAC) Approach by Frank L. Gardner and Zella E. Moore as the foundation. This experience deepened my understanding of how ACT principles can be applied in athletic settings, and I remain committed to integrating ACT into both clinical practice and future performance consulting opportunities.
