ACT/CBS Background and Training: For my final three semesters in grad school, I utilized ACT as my theoretical orientation for client case conceptualizations. Also during that time, I worked through ACT Made Simple and chose my go-to interventions for the six core processes and brought those into my client sessions. I gained experience "dancing around the hexaflex" within sessions and saw how using ACT interventions improved my clients' self-awareness, self-compassion, and lives in general. I continued diving into ACT through reading scholarly articles, listening to podcasts, attending trainings, and monitoring the ACBS listervs for up-to-date info on ACBS practices. I'm excited to continue that work!
ACT/CBS Experience: 1 year
Additional Information: I work at a group private practice, offering virtual sessions for individuals, couples/relationships, and families. I operate from an ACT foundation, while weaving somatic awareness/wisdom with present-moment mindfulness techniques, IFS parts work, EMDR for trauma processing, and Gottman method within couples/relationships work.
