ACT/CBS Background and Training: I hold BA, PGDip, MA (first class hons) and DClinPsych degrees and am registered as a clinical psychologist with the NZ Psychologists Board. I have been exploring the rich world of ACT and contextual behavioural science since my doctoral training and have attended many trainings including the DNA-V youth model and ACT for psychosis. Before training as a clinical psychologist, I was employed in the service-user workforce in a stigma reduction role where I worked to improve community attitudes towards mental health issues. I have a strong human rights lens and am one of the co-founders of the Aotearoa Therapists with Lived Experience Network (ATLEN). My doctoral research explored lived experience of antipsychotic medication from first prescriptions to attempted discontinuation. After several years working within public mental health services for children and adolescents experiencing severe mental health challenges and young adults experiencing a first episode of psychosis, I moved into private practice where I see adolescents and adults both in person and online.
ACT/CBS Experience: I have run groups and provided ACT individually and as part of family therapy work since 2015
