ACT/CBS Background and Training: I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at Universidad de los Andes. I hold a degree in Psychology from Universidad de Ibagué, a Master’s in Clinical Psychology from Universidad de los Andes, and a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology (Cum Laude) from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. I also completed a postdoctoral fellowship as part of an international collaborative project focused on digital interventions for vulnerable populations, working in conjunction with the University of Lausanne (Switzerland), King's College London (UK), and Fundación Santa Fe de Bogotá.
With over 10 years of clinical experience, my work is dedicated to addressing psychological trauma, emotional disorders, suicidal ideation, and relational problems. My research focuses on the efficacy and application of Mindfulness and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I evaluate how these interventions impact well-being across diverse populations and improve key psychological processes, such as repetitive negative thinking and experiential avoidance. Additionally, I am interested in exploring the potential of new technologies to expand the reach and accessibility of mental health interventions.
