Sunday, 19 July 2026 | ACBS World Conference | Lyon, France
For the second year in a row, the Association for Contextual Behavioral Science is proud to host the CBS Science Retreat as part of the ACBS World Conference.
Designed as a strategic scientific gathering within the conference, the CBS Science Retreat brings together invited researchers from around the world to collaborate on pressing questions shaping the future of contextual behavioral science. Building on the momentum of the inaugural retreat, this year’s event continues ACBS’s commitment to elevating scientific dialogue, fostering collaboration across disciplines, and strengthening the research profile of the World Conference.
The retreat reflects ACBS’s broader vision to bridge research and practice while expanding the visibility and influence of contextual behavioral science within the global scientific community.
As part of the 2026 CBS Science Retreat, all conference attendees are invited to join retreat participants for a special panel discussion:
Artificial Intelligence in Contextual Behavioral Mental Health Interventions: Clinical and Research Priorities | Saturday, 18 July at 10:45am
This session will open the retreat’s conversation to the broader conference community, creating space for dialogue between invited science retreat researchers, practitioners, students, and attendees from across ACBS.
The panel will explore the emerging role of artificial intelligence in contextual behavioral mental health interventions, with attention to both clinical application and research priorities. Discussion will consider opportunities, challenges, ethical questions, and future directions for how AI may shape assessment, intervention delivery, implementation, training, and scientific discovery within contextual behavioral science.
By inviting the wider ACBS community into this conversation, the 2026 CBS Science Retreat aims to foster collaborative dialogue around one of the most rapidly evolving and impactful topics facing the field today.
Looking Ahead
The CBS Science Retreat is envisioned as an annual tradition within the ACBS World Conference, one that continues to grow the network of impactful scientists engaged in contextual behavioral science while producing scholarship that contributes meaningfully to the field.
We look forward to welcoming this year’s participants in Lyon and to the conversations, collaborations, and ideas that will emerge from the 2026 retreat.
