Nebraska Internship Consortium in Professional Psychology - University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Lincoln, NE

The Nebraska Internship Consortium in Professional Psychology (NICPP) comprises eight cooperating agencies that together offer a broad range of professional experiences for qualified doctoral students in psychology. The mission of the Nebraska Internship Consortium in Professional Psychology is to provide psychology interns with intensive professional training experiences within the context of a scientist-practitioner model. NICPP specializes in training professional psychologists with child, adolescent, college student, and family interests. The internship program is one full year (12 months/2000 hours) in duration.

The Consortium accepts applicants from APA-accredited school, counseling, and clinical psychology doctoral programs. The NICPP agencies require background checks, although the nature of the background checks vary from one agency to the next. And the NICPP agencies require vaccinations including vaccinations for COVID unless the candidate has applied for an exemption with the agency, and that exemption has been approved.

Students who have completed their internship training with the Consortium have been very successful in obtaining employment in a variety of settings, including hospitals, community mental health centers, universities, and school districts. Occasionally, postdoctoral opportunities are available at some of the sites in the Consortium. Additional information on past interns' placements and postdoctoral placements may be obtained from the Consortium office and from the APPIC website.
