ACT/CBS Background and Training: Introduced to ACT by a PhD mentor about 7 years ago. Found it resonated with my philosophical approach.
Since then, I have taken several CEU's on approach and completing Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) Intensive Online Course by Daniel J. Moran, PhD through PESI.
Most recently, I am implementing skills and insights gained from Advanced Acceptance and Commitment Therapy: The Experienced Practitioner's Guide to Optimizing Delivery by Darrah Westrup, PhD.
When using ACT as primary approach in therapy, I am seeing greater level of psychological flexibility. This in turn, results in diminished need for substance use as form of experiential avoidance.
