ACT/CBS Experience: I regularly provide professional development in ACT to psyhcologists, as well as self-compassion and ACT based support for medical teams. I will be running an ACT based support group for parents of children with a neurodevelopmental disability in Oct 2022
Additional Information: I am particularly passionate about supporting parents of pre-school and school aged children using ACT to explore their parenting values and inform behaviour management strategies. Since 2019, I have been attending monthly ACT peer supervision, joined the ACT children and families SIG. I lecture to postgraduate doctoral psychology students that use a number of case studies involving the use of ACT to treat anxiety in children and adolescents. In 2020, I joined the Neurodevelopment and Disability team at the Royal Childrens Hospital, where I providing individual therapy to parents of children with a neurodisability and chronic health issues; I use ACT as well as compassion focused approaches on a regular basis with this particular group. I also work in the RCH Psychology service, supporting children and young people who have mental health issues as a consequence of a medical condition, and use ACT with this population also.
