Peter Robinson, Psychotherapist and Cognitive Behavioural Therapist

I am CBT trained with 10 years previously as a CBT supervisor and tutor with the South of Scotland Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Course and 20 years as an NHS Psychotherapist specialising in 'third wave' contextual CBT and systemic psychotherapy. I have been incorporating 'third wave' contextual CBT and mindfulness approaches into my work over the last 8 years. In addition, I find that Collaborative Dialogical Therapy, Compassion-focused Therapy, Dialectic Behaviour Therapy, Emotion-focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Mentalisation and Systemic (Relational) Psychotherapy are exciting combinations and seem to compliment and enhance one another well, often leading to amazing results.

I continue to have the privilege, and for me it is a very significant and humbling privilege, of providing private psychotherapy to individuals, couples and families plus executive coaching whilst actively developing my therapeutic skills. This is an ongoing learning process.

I have an enormous and ever-deepening respect for the thousands of people who have consulted me given how they managed to deal with and often transcended what sometimes seemed like impossible challenges. But they did and they do and this, I think, is something very wonderful.

I feel very fortunate and find great pleasure in my daily experiences of human beings being truly incredible and full of so many possibilities.
