Descriptor: Our psychology service at VA Sierra Nevada Health Care System (VASNHCS) is a dynamic, collaborative team of more than 26 psychologists who lead programs, develop innovative services, and provide high‑quality care across the medical center and community-based outpatient clinics. We offer a robust practitioner‑scholar training program grounded in evidence‑based practice, reflective and strengths‑based supervision, culturally responsive care, and interprofessional collaboration. With a clear path from student to professional, trainees receive individualized rotation planning, strong mentorship, comprehensive didactics, and diverse clinical experiences spanning general mental health, integrated primary care, neuropsychology, addiction, geropsychology, psychosocial rehabilitation, PTSD, and telehealth. Our growing academic partnerships with the University of Nevada, Reno support trainee involvement in peer-supervision, teaching, and research opportunities, and we are proud to have two ACT‑certified trainers on staff. Many of our graduates return as colleagues, and our trainees consistently match to competitive postdoctoral fellowships and entry‑level positions in VA and medical centers across the country—reflecting the strength of our training and the supportive professional community that defines psychology at VASNHCS.
