ACT/CBS Background and Training: I have been training in and practicing ACT for 25+ years. As a peer-reviewed ACT trainer, I provide professional training both within the US and internationally. I co-founded and serve as President of Portland Psychotherapy Clinic, Research, and Training Center, where we offer therapy services, conduct research, and provide trainings in CBS, particularly ACT. I co-authored "Values in Therapy: A Clinician's Guide to Helping Clients Explore Values, Increase Psychological Flexibility, and Live a More Meaningful Life."
My clinical practice specializes in relationship difficulties, including intimacy challenges, trauma-related relationship issues, and one's relationship with self and body. My work emphasizes how values-focused compassion and perspective-taking strategies can be used to address shame, stigma, and self-criticism. I am actively involved in clinical research trials and training retreats in psychedelic-assisted therapy, bringing a CBS perspective to psychedelic science through my work at the Portland Institute for Psychedelic Science and Perspective Retreats.
