Position Description:
Individuals with clinical or experimental psychology training are invited to apply for our T32 Program in translational clinical research of substance use disorder (SUD) at the Columbia University Department of Psychiatry/New York State Psychiatric Institute. Our program provides training across multiple disciplines in SUD research, with a focus on clinical and behavioral health. We provide an academic setting and expert mentorship. Our collaborative faculty offer opportunities for fellows to engage in impactful research, ranging from clinical trials to the implementation of evidence-based treatment. Fellows receive mentorship from a team of faculty as the progress in their careers and find their niche.
The fellowship also provides carefully planned training in the responsible conduct of research, rigor and reproducibility, and study management. Other didactics are tailored to the educational needs of each fellow. Our program is particularly committed to providing a unique training environment for the advancement of outstanding trainees.
Program Benefits:
Initial 2-year appointment, renewable for up to 3 years, research training with outstanding, well-funded investigators in the areas of clinical interventions, behavioral pharmacology, and the implementation and dissemination of evidence-based practices in the community. Fringe benefits including health care, and support from the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs. Additional activities include: seminars, journal clubs, opportunities to present at local and national meetings, grant writing/reviewing workshops, and career development workshops.
Eligibility:
Ph.D and/or M.D. with relevant research experiences in psychology, neuroscience,
public policy, health or related field.
