ACT/CBS Background and Training: I trained with James D. Herbert, Ph.D., on ACT for social phobia, and completed my dissertation with Dr. Herbert on a pilot study of individual ACT adapted for social phobia. I served as principal investigator on an NIMH-funded study to develop an ACT-based treatment for comorbid depression and social anxiety. In addition, I co-developed an ACT-based clinical research partial hospital program at Rhode Island Hospital, and I continue to co-supervise research activities at the partial hospital program. Finally, I provide clinical and research supervision to psychology trainees in the Brown University Clinical Psychology Training Consortium.
