Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is an empirically based behavior change approach based on Relational Frame Theory (RFT) that uses acceptance and mindfulness strategies to promote committed value driven behavior. ACT encourages psychological flexibility, which involves contacting the present moment and changing or persisting in valued actions without attempts to change the form or frequency of painful internal experiences. This list serves as a forum for clinicians, scientists, and students who are members of the Association for Contextual Behavioral Science (ACBS) to discuss the current research and clinical applications of ACT and RFT for children, teens, parents, and teachers.
